Why should I accept checks in my Internet store?

Credit Cards only address a portion of your customers preferred payment methods. Today there are over 200 million people with Checking Accounts and only 80 million with Credit Cards. Customers that have Checking Accounts far outnumber your customers with Credit Cards.

Also, many customer's and especially business customers, prefer to pay by Check as their Credit Card Accounts are primarily reserved for Travel & Entertainment Expenses, and General Overhead Expenses are almost always paid by Check. If you sell to businesses, goEcheck is the perfect solution. Many of our Merchants experience an immediate increase in business and an increase in closing ratios, when they offer goEcheck as a payment option.

Is accepting checks online legal?

Of course, Under the Uniform Commercial Code, Title 3, it is legal and acceptable for an individual (your customer) to authorize you to endorse a check on their behalf. Therefore, the customer's signature on the endorsement line is not necessary. Additionally, there are new rules from NACHA and the Federal Reserve pertaining to Internet check transaction, which become effective in March 2001. GoEcheck's Internet check product ALREADY meets these new regulations and requirements.
